Visit the Joplin Public Library Children’s Department for a fun, all-ages science pop-up kit with the Creative Learning Alliance!

Are you ready for some physics fun? Us too!
While we eagerly wait for the day we open the doors to our science center, we’re excited to introduce our Show Me STEAM: Physics Fun bags! A limited number of bags will be offered, each with a science experiment to do from the comfort of your home.
This week, we’ll have 50 bags filled with Drop on In; this experiment explores inertia, energy, and Newtonian physics This is an activity you can do as a team so we’ll have one bag per family until they run out!

Earth Day STEM Kit

Calling the curious, the creative, the calculating:

 

Young conservationists ages 8-12 are invited to take part in our Earth Day STEM kit! This take-home kit encourages exploration of the Earth and ways to protect it and includes several activities. Pick up in the Children’s Department or via curbside pickup by calling 417-623-7953. Supplies are limited to the first 20 children.

Virtual Storytime (Pre-Recorded)

Join your favorite Children’s Department staff for a fun themed storytime video every Tuesday morning! We will share new and old favorite stories, songs, rhymes, and early literacy activities. All videos will be posted on our YouTube channel. In February, we will talk and sing and read all about love, music, and fairy tales! Don’t forget to pick up a craft at the library or via curbside pickup beginning the Friday before storytime!

Takeout Kit–DIY Speakers

Boost the volume on your smart phone, tablet, or MP3 player with a set of D.I.Y. speakers! Starting Monday, Mar. 22, grades 6-12 can pick up a free craft kit in the Teen Department or through curbside pickup. Supplies are limited.
