POSITION AVAILABLE: Teen Services Librarian

SCHEDULE: Full‐time, exempt position (40 hours per week)

DEADLINE: Applications will be accepted until position is filled, but first consideration given to applications received by May 27, 2024.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages the Teen Department, including all aspects of day-to-day departmental duties, with a major focus on assisting teen Library users and collaborating with Library staff and community partners to develop, plan, and host programs and events for teens. This individual is responsible for providing excellent customer service, selecting materials and resources for the Teen Department, and helping manage issues relating to Library policy compassionately and professionally.  The ability to problem solve is required, along with being fiscally responsible and able to manage the Teen Department budget.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A Master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited graduate program is required. Candidates must exhibit a passion for working with teens and have experience planning programs and events. Must show good judgment and establish effective working relationships, including the ability to plan, coordinate, and collaboratively work with others. Must also demonstrate creativity and flexibility and have excellent communication and organizational skills. Experience with social media for communication and marketing, and the ability to exercise proficiency with computer applications, such as Google Workspace, and Library databases is essential.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required. Candidates will be required to pass a background check.

SALARY RANGE: $46,247 to $51,064 ‐- salary commensurate with applicant’s education and experience.

POSITION AVAILABLE: Circulation Assistant

SCHEDULE: Half-time (20 hours per week), non-exempt

DEADLINE: Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, but first consideration given to applications received by January 15, 2024.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: This position supports the Circulation Department by serving the needs of library patrons and organizing the return of library materials to their designated locations. This is a clerical position requiring outstanding customer service skills, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational proficiency, familiarity with Library policies and procedures, and the ability to interpret these to the public.

Half-time, non-exempt position

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Two years customer service experience required or two years post high school education completed (college, technical or trade school, the military, etc)

BENEFITS: Benefits package includes a monthly accrual of sick and personal leave, a yearly accrual of two weeks vacation leave and ten paid holidays per year.

SALARY RANGE: $13.58 per hour

Volunteers are a valuable resource for public service organizations and we are grateful to our terrific volunteers who help support the Library. Volunteers generally straighten or shelve materials, perform clerical duties, clean toys, dust shelves, assist with program preparation, or work on other specially assigned projects.
