POSITION AVAILABLE: Makerspace Assistant

SCHEDULE: Part‐time position (22 hours per week); An ideal schedule would include availability on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; with an occasional Saturday shift when needed to assist with programming.

DEADLINE: Applications will be accepted until position is filled, but first consideration given to applications received by September 15, 2022.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Individuals in this position are responsible for assisting users in operating the equipment and software available in the Makerspace, either by appointment or during open studio hours; generating Makerspace-focused social media posts; and conducting events or programs that showcase the offerings in the Makerspace. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service and possess a combination of technical, creative, and problem solving skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Two years of college or equivalent experience; must enjoy working with the public; demonstrates creative and technical aptitude; possesses excellent communication skills; has knowledge and use of social media; willing to help troubleshoot and problem solve; and able to maintain a cheerful demeanor under pressure.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required. Candidates will be required to pass a background check.

BENEFITS: Benefits package includes a monthly accrual of sick and personal leave, a yearly accrual of two weeks vacation leave and ten paid holidays per year.

SALARY RANGE: $12.32 per hour
