In this interactive musical program, Jim reads his book, Bop Bop Dinosaur, and sings songs about other silly critters. It’s a tail-wagging dance party with lots of movement and laughter!

Pet Rock Adoption Take-Home Kit

Come on down to the Joplin Public Library to adopt your very own pet rock! Design their habitat, fill out an adoption certificate, and bring one home today!

Children ages 6-12 are encouraged to adopt.

Have you ever wanted to write a song? Have you ever wondered how to go about it? Join FIRE DOG’s Marko Polo for Song Shapers – an interactive virtual happening that invites the community into the creative process. We encourage all ages to participate, but please note that today’s activities are developed for PreK-5th Grades.

Bird Watching Take-home Kit

Fill your summer days observing your winged neighbors! 

Patrons 8-12 can pick up a stem kit with items to make a bird feeder and record the visitors. Kits are available starting Friday, June 25 at 9 AM. Hurry in–supplies are limited!

Explore and Play at Home: Camp Read-A-Lotta

Take-home kits will be available for little campers ages 2 to 5 beginning Saturday, June 19th. Each kit includes several hands-on activities and crafts designed to engage young minds and spark curiosity! This month’s theme will be all things CAMPING!

Missouri Department of Conservations presents: Animal Wrappers

Join the JPL Children’s Department and our friends from MDC’s Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center to learn about what kinds of body coverings different animals have and how each type of covering helps animals survive.
