Literally Design Artists’ Reception

Spring brings the 2019 Literally Design competition reception! View the works of selected finalists and enjoy light refreshments – including coffee generously provided by Cottage Small Coffee Roasters of Carthage, MO – in the Local History gallery inside Joplin Public Library. Free and open to the public. No registration necessary.

LIterally Design is a juried typographic poster design competition for college and university students in Missouri and Arkansas. Fusing the written and spoken word with design, this competition challenges students to consider their personal interpretation of a specific text and how it influences their design choices. A small group of selected finalists will have an exhibit at Post Art Library in Joplin, MO.

This competition is sponsored by the AIGA Missouri Southern State University student group for design, and the Post Art Library of Joplin, MO. Selected finalists will have their posters printed free of charge and prepared for display at Post Art Library. There is no entry fee for this competition, and students are limited to one poster per entry.

Library exhibitions and displays are curated by Post Art Library. Their mission is to enrich the community of Joplin by perpetuating Dr. Winfred L. and Elizabeth C. Post’s love of art, architecture, history, and history preservation through public access to arts-related library resources and services, educational programming, events, and exhibits.
