Coding with Python & Raspberry Pi

Learn the basics of coding with Python on our palm-sized Raspberry Pi computers.  Sessions are taught by a local high school student.  Skills learned in each session build on the one before, so participants should plan on attending all 4 sessions.

Grades 7-8; spots are limited.

Anime/Manga Club

Anime and manga fans, this one’s for you. Meet other fans, watch anime, chat/rant/discuss; feel free to bring your drawings or sketchbook. Plus, we’ll have a craft and snacks.

Tech Take Apart

Upcycle old technology–computers, keyboards, etc.–by taking it apart then using the pieces to create alien artworks.  We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes (trust us on this one).

Random Awesomeness

Hang out and enjoy games, crafts, chess, sticker mosaic, graffiti wall, and other shenanigans* in the Teen Department.  Come for a little or stay for a lot.

Bilingual English/Spanish Family Stories

Suggested age: 2 to 5 years

Join us for a brand new bilingual English/Spanish storytime on Thursdays! Library staff will read books, sing songs, share rhymes and fingerplays, and offer hands-on activities to build literacy skills and develop school readiness skills. Families are encouraged to participate, and a themed extension activity will take place afterwards.
