Live Storytime

Join our wonderful story time leaders Miss Allie and Miss Jessica LIVE for fun and interactive  stories and songs!
All storytimes will take place via Zoom and registration is required.
To sign up, simply email childrens@joplinpubliclibrary.org or call 417-623-7953 ext 1038 by October 5. Once you have signed up, children’s staff will send you a Zoom meeting invite.
The story time will be geared toward children aged 1-5 years. As an added bonus, you can pick up supplies for a craft at the JPL Children’s Department or curbside pick up beginning the Friday before the live storytime. At the end of story time on Tuesday, you can work on your craft at home LIVE with other kids and library staff!

Virtual Board Games

Virtual board games are back!  Hang out and play over Board Game Arena and Zoom.  We’ll try some new games and some classics.   Participants will need a device with web browsing capability plus a camera and microphone.  Participants also will need to create a free account in Board Game Arena, https://en.boardgamearena.com/welcome

Grades 6-12.  Registration required; deadline to register is Thursday, September 24.  To register, email teen@joplinpubliclibrary.org

Mac B. Kid Spy: Undercover (Virtual) Book Club

Mission Objective: To assist Mac B. Kid Spy in the retrieval of the Crown Jewels for the Queen of England and to solve the mystery of their disappearance.

When: Mission signup will commence 09/07/20.

Who: The first 20 kid spies (ages 7-11) will be selected for this elite mission and given super secret spy information and activities.

What: Each Friday for 4 weeks, starting on 09/18/20, you will be given access to videos and special assignments to help solve the mystery of the stolen Crown Jewels. On week 5, you and the other elite agents involved in this mission will join us virtually at the Agency of Awesome Books for a LIVE super duper secret final mission on Zoom
