Summer Bonus! Pet Training Kit

It’s bonus time!  Pick up a pet training kit from the Teen Department and have fun teaching your pet a new skill.  This is a great activity to do inside during the hot weather!  Kit includes materials needed for clicker training plus cat and dog treat recipes and food safety information for your animal.  Watch our instructional video on the Library’s YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugBSuz0z-qI

Clicker training can work with dogs, some cats, ferrets, many rodents, among other animals.  Kits are free and available while supplies last.  Our clicker training is designed for ages 11 and up.  Training will take a little patience and practice.  🙂  Have fun!

Takeout Kit–Pet Toy

Make your own pet toy with our latest craft kit–whether it’s dogs or cats, we have you covered!  Kits are available in the Teen Department starting Monday, July 19, at 9:00 am.  Supplies are limited, so grab one before they’re gone!

Grades 6-12; no registration needed.

Storytime Activity

Pop into the Children’s Department each Tuesday to check out what’s going on! These activities are a combination of take-home crafts and interactive displays and are appropriate for kids ages 3-12.

Music Speaker Take-Home Kit

Calling all music lovers! Learn how to make your very own music speakers using household items with our music speaker take-home kit. These kits are available for kids ages 7-12 on a limited basis.

Post Art Library Mail Art Take-Home Kits

Starting Thursday, July 1st you may pick up a Post Art Library Mail Art Take-Home Kit from one of three places in the library:

  • The Reference Desk (adult/teen kits)
  • The Teen Department (teen kits)
  • The Children’s Department (children’s kits)

Although the kits differ slightly, each contains everything you need to create one piece of mail art to mail in for the Post Mail Art Projekt: Show Me Mail Art exhibit, including a self-addressed stamped postcard! (Please see below for kit contents.)

Post Mail Art Projekt 2021: Show Me Mail Art is a collaboration among Connect2Culture, Joplin Public Library, and Post Art Library and is endorsed by Missouri 2021, an initiative of The State Historical Society of Missouri. For more information, contact Jill at 417-623-7953 x1041.
