Children’s Chess Club

Children of all skill levels are invited to play chess with the JPL Children’s Department and the Joplin Area Chess Club! We meet once a month for approximately 30 minutes to learn, play, and have fun.

Recipe Exchange

Looking for a new recipe to try, or want a new recipe to make for the holidays? Join us for our recipe exchange! Bring a typed or handwritten hard copy of a recipe (or recipes) you enjoy cooking (and eating!), exchange it for a new recipe (or recipes) brought by others, chat with fellow food enthusiasts, and munch on provided refreshments!

Please bring a couple copies of your recipe(s) if possible so more than one participant may take your recipe home.

Teen Takeout Kit–Zombie Stuffie

Boo!  Sew a felt zombie with our October takeout kit.  Starting at 3:30pm on Tuesday, October 18, teens can pick up a craft kit in the Teen Department or through curbside pickup.  Kits are available while supplies last.

Designed for grades 6-12; no registration needed.

Teen Takeout Kit–Neon Glow-in-the-Dark Mini-Pumpkin

It’s pumpkin season!  Decorate a mini-pumpkin with neon/glow-in-the-dark paint in our latest takeout kit.  Starting at 10:00am on Saturday, September 24, teens can pick up a kit in the Teen Department or through curbside pickup.  Kits are available while supplies last.

Whether you are new to Medicare or need to refresh on options before enrolling, this educational opportunity will be focused on Medicare information and offerings. Licensed Medicare Advisor Cliff Miller will provide information to help you better understand Medicare and your options.
