Policies & Procedures
Meeting rooms available for reservations are East and/or West Community Room, Conference Room 1, the Dermott Room (Conference Room 2), and the Ned B Chase Jr, MD Room (Conference Room 3), and the Art Kungle Jr Room (Conference Room 4). Scroll down for details and room capacities. Room reservations may be requested through the website or by calling the Library’s main switchboard 417-623-7953. Library staff will contact you to confirm your booking. Reservations may be made up to 6 months in advance with a limit of 12 reservations per calendar year.
Study rooms (1-4) are only available on a first-come first-served basis and may not be reserved in advance.
Meeting rooms may be reserved from Library opening (no early entry) until 15 minutes before the Library closes. Check Library hours here.
The meeting rooms cannot be booked for the following uses:
- Use of the Library meeting space for financial gain. No sale of goods or services or the solicitation for future sales or services will be permitted.
- Non-Library related groups selling or promoting items, services, or doing fundraising.
- Activities likely to disturb regular Library functions.
- Birthday parties, baby showers, family reunions or other such events during library hours.
The floor plan below shows the location of each meeting room and Local History. Local History staff handle the application/signature process necessary for meeting room reservations.
See below for an in-depth description and a picture of each meeting room available for reservations. Meeting Rooms are available free of charge to any non-profit organizations engaged in educational, cultural, intellectual or charitable activities. For-profit organizations or businesses can rent a room for non-commercial use, such as training seminars, etc., to which the public is not invited. Current fees for each room are below.
