Monday, February 27th

  • 4:00 PM - I Survived book club
    I survived book club is a 5 week program for children in 3rd to 5th grade will use Science, Math, and Art to explore 5 Disasters! Based on the popular, "I Survived!" books, the sinking of the Titanic, the Joplin Tornado, the San Francisco Earthquake, the eruption of Mount St. Helen's, and the Japanese Tsunami will all be explored. Registration is Required and Space is Limited! If you have questions, or to register, please contact the Children's Desk at 417-623-2184.

Tuesday, February 28th

  • 4:00 PM - Dog Day Afternoon
    This program encourages independent readers in K-5th grade to practice their skills by reading to certified Therapy Dogs. The Library supplies the books and the dogs, and the children become storytellers. Registration takes place at the Children's Desk on the day of the event. For independent readers, grades K-5th

  • 5:30 PM - Chess Club
    A new, monthly Children's department program for chess players of all experience levels. No registration required.

Tuesday, March 7th

  • 9:30 AM - Movers and Shakers 1
    A 30-minute movement-based class for parents/caregivers and toddlers. Library staff utilize fun, interactive movement, songs, and rhymes to encourage singing, dancing, and playing. Adult-child interaction focusing on key early literacy skills is emphasized. Suggested Age: Walkers to 2 years old.
  • 10:45 AM - Movers and Shakers 2
